How do I redeem a Spotify gift card? – Genghis

Spotify's help page says the card must come from the country or region of your account, and it pays only for Premium Individual (checked September 25, 2026). Spotify has stopped selling gift cards, but cards already bought still redeem. Gift time starts on your next payment date, or at once on a free account.

How do I redeem a Spotify code on the website?

In a browser, logged in to your Spotify account. Per Spotify's help page (checked September 25, 2026):

Log in at spotify.com/account/redeem.
Enter the code. It uses capital letters and numbers, so check 0 against O and 1 against I.
Click Continue.
Click Redeem.

No Spotify account yet? Spotify's US card terms require one, so sign up at spotify.com/signup first.

Can I redeem in the Spotify app?

Not on iPhone or iPad: Spotify says you can't subscribe to Premium in its app for iPhone and iPad, and its gift card page lists only the website (checked September 25, 2026). Open the redeem page in your phone's browser instead.

Why does Spotify refuse my code?

Spotify's help page names four causes: a typo, a country mismatch, the wrong plan, or the time limit.

Typo: after 4 failed attempts Spotify shows an error message; try again after 24 hours.
Country: your account's country or region must match where the card was bought.
Plan: a card will not apply to Student, Family, Duo or trial offers, to Basic, or while you have an add-on.
Time limit: an account holds at most 18 months of Premium time from gift cards.

What happens when the gift time runs out?

Spotify charges the payment method on file, or returns the account to the free, ad supported service if there is none. To move your account to another country while on gift card Premium, Spotify says to wait until the account is back on the free service before you update the payment method. What if my Spotify code still doesn't work?

Send us a screenshot of Spotify's message within 30 days of your purchase. Refunds within 30 days if a code fails at first redemption, arrives incomplete or never arrives, or our page showed the wrong region.
