Do I need data roaming or an APN for my eSIM?

Yes to data roaming: turn it on for the eSIM line when you land, because travel eSIMs connect as roaming lines.

There are no roaming charges from your home operator on the data you use: it runs on the eSIM line. If your phone asks for an APN, write to us with your order number and phone model.

Why does my eSIM need data roaming?

Because travel eSIMs connect as roaming lines, as our product pages say. The eSIM uses the local networks named on its product page, and your phone treats that connection as roaming. Apple also says that with an international data plan you may need to keep Data Roaming on (checked September 25, 2026).

How do I turn on data roaming for the eSIM?

In your phone's mobile network settings, for the eSIM line (checked September 25, 2026):

• iPhone: Settings, Cellular, tap the eSIM line, Cellular Data Options, then Data Roaming, per Apple's roaming page.
• Google Pixel: Settings, Network & internet, SIMs, choose the eSIM, then Roaming, per Google's Pixel help.
• Samsung Galaxy: Settings, Connections, Mobile networks, then Data roaming, per Samsung's roaming guide.

Also check that the eSIM is your mobile data line. Install steps: iPhone or Android.

Do I need to set an APN?

Write to us if your phone asks for one. Send your order number and phone model to samantha@genghis.pro, and do not type in an APN on a guess: Apple notes that a wrong APN can stop mobile data, per its APN page (checked September 25, 2026). Read how to contact us.
