Does a Genghis eSIM come with a phone number?

No: a Genghis eSIM is data only, with no phone number, so it cannot make calls or send SMS.

Your own SIM keeps working for calls and texts, and WhatsApp and other apps work over the eSIM's data. There are no roaming charges from your home operator on the data you use, because that data runs on the eSIM line.

Can I keep my own number while I travel?

Yes: keep your own SIM on for calls and texts, and set the eSIM as your mobile data line. Apple says one line can handle cellular data while your other line stays the default for calls, SMS, iMessage and FaceTime, per its page on using two lines (checked September 25, 2026). On Android, you choose the mobile data SIM in the SIM settings: see the Android install steps.

Do WhatsApp and other apps work?

Yes: WhatsApp and other apps work over the eSIM's data, as our product pages say. Calls and messages inside those apps run over that data.

Is there a Genghis eSIM with a phone number?

No: every eSIM plan we sell is data only, as of September 25, 2026. Each product page shows "Data only, no phone number" in the plan facts, with the note "Your own SIM keeps working for calls and texts."

What should I set up before I travel?
