Apple gift cards include the ones still sold as iTunes, and both work only in the country store they were bought for. Which country's card should I buy?

The card for the country or region of your Apple Account. Apple says its gift cards can't be redeemed outside the country or region of purchase (checked September 25, 2026). What can Apple Account balance pay for?

Apps, subscriptions such as iCloud+ and Apple Music, and other content, plus products at Apple Retail Stores, the Apple online store and the Apple Store app, per Apple's US gift card terms (checked September 25, 2026). The card cannot be exchanged for cash or used to buy other gift cards, and unused balance cannot be transferred. Apple also notes that some purchases may need a credit card on file even when you pay with your balance.
