How do I buy gift cards with Ethereum, and which network should I use?

Choose Ethereum (ETH) at checkout and pick the network your ETH is on: Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Base, Arbitrum, Linea or zkSync Era.

Then send the exact amount to the address shown. All six networks use the same 0x address format, so the network you select in your wallet decides where your ETH goes. Your code appears on screen as soon as the payment confirms on the network. We also email you a link to it.

What is Ethereum?

Ethereum is the network, and ether (ETH) is its native coin: ETH pays transaction fees, called gas, and is used as digital money, according to ethereum.org. Base and Arbitrum are layer 2 networks: they run on top of Ethereum at a fraction of the cost, but they are separate networks from Ethereum itself.

Which networks does Genghis accept for Ethereum?

Six, as of September 25, 2026, and none adds a network cost at checkout. The checkout's own list is always the current one.

ETH on BNB Smart Chain, labeled Binance Smart Chain at checkout, is not native ETH. It is a BEP-20 token that stands for ETH on BNB Smart Chain (contract 0x2170ed0880ac9a755fd29b2688956bd959f933f8). Choose it only if your wallet holds that token there.

Which network should I choose for ETH?

The network your ETH already sits on, because a payment cannot cross from one network to another.

Ethereum: the main network, often labeled ERC20 on exchanges. Gas here is paid in ETH.
Base or Arbitrum: layer 2 networks with their own balances. ETH on Base is not ETH on Ethereum, even at the same 0x address.
BNB Smart Chain: the BEP-20 ETH token. Gas on BNB Smart Chain is paid in BNB, so keep a little BNB in the wallet, according to BNB Chain's documentation.
Linea or zkSync Era: accepted, with no wallet button. Copy the address and the amount, or scan the QR code.

How do I pay with Ethereum, step by step?

Eight steps. Steps 4 and 5 apply only on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Base and Arbitrum.

Add the product to your cart, check out and enter the email address for your code.
Choose Ethereum (ETH).
Pick the network that holds your ETH. The checkout warns that a transfer on the wrong network is lost.
On a computer with a wallet extension, click "Pay with" and your wallet's name, or "Pay from wallet". Without an extension, "Connect wallet" shows a WalletConnect QR code to scan with a wallet app. Approve the transfer: the button reads "Check your wallet", then "Sent".
On a phone, tap "Open in wallet": your wallet app opens with the transfer filled in.
On Linea or zkSync Era, or whenever you prefer, tap "Copy address" and send the amount after "Send exactly", or scan the QR code.
Leave room for gas, which comes on top of the amount due. From an exchange, choose "recipient gets the full amount" or add the withdrawal fee on top.
Send before the quote expires, or tap "Get a new quote". Your code appears on screen as soon as the payment confirms.

What should I know about gas and 0x addresses?

Gas is a fee paid in ETH, and 0x addresses do not tell networks apart. The points below are general Ethereum behavior described on ethereum.org.

How gas works: gas is quoted in gwei, a billionth of an ETH. The fee is a base fee, which is burned, plus an optional tip to the validator; unused gas is refunded.
Failed transfers still cost gas: a transaction that runs out of gas is reverted, but the gas it used is gone. If your wallet shows a failed transfer, no ETH reached the payment; check before you try again.
One address, many networks: the same 0x address works on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, BNB Smart Chain and other compatible networks. Set your wallet to the network you chose at checkout, or read what happens when crypto goes to the wrong network.
Wallet says sent, screen says nothing: after paying through a connected wallet, the screen may read "Your wallet reported sending it, but the transfer has not reached this payment. Write to us about this order before you pay again." Do exactly that.

How long until I get my code?

Your code appears on screen as soon as the payment confirms on the network. We also email you a link to it. How long the confirmation takes depends on the coin. On Ethereum itself, a new block is produced every 12-second slot (ethereum.org). Most orders are delivered automatically; a small share is checked by hand before delivery. What if something goes wrong?

Email samantha@genghis.pro with the order number and the TxID, and start with the page that fits. ETH sent on Arbitrum when you picked Ethereum, or the other way round, is covered in wrong-network transfers. A transfer that sits unconfirmed: payments stuck on pending. A short amount, often because an exchange kept its fee: partially paid orders. A countdown that ended before you sent: expired quotes.

Can I get a refund in ETH?

Not in ETH. Refunds within 30 days if a code fails at first redemption, arrives incomplete or never arrives, or our page showed the wrong region. Refunds are paid in USDT or USDC (ERC-20 or BEP-20) or as Genghis Points, 1 to 3 business days after approval. If you paid on Ethereum, an ERC-20 refund lands on the network you already use.
