How do I buy gift cards with Algorand (ALGO)?

To pay with ALGO, select Algorand at checkout and send exactly the ALGO amount shown, keeping at least 0.1 ALGO in your account.

What is Algorand?

Algorand is a Pure Proof of Stake blockchain with instant finality, and ALGO is its native currency, used for fees and minimum balances, according to Algorand's developer documentation. Genghis was accelerated by Algorand and Techstars.

Which networks does Genghis accept for Algorand?

The Algorand network only, as of September 25, 2026. The checkout always shows the current list.

How do I pay with ALGO, step by step?

Seven steps, with the minimum balance check in step 3.

1. Fill your cart, go to checkout and enter the email address we should send the code to.
2. Search for ALGO or Algorand, or choose "Show all currencies", then select the row "ALGO on Algorand".
3. Check that your Algorand account keeps at least its minimum balance after the amount due and the fee.
4. Copy the address with "Copy address", or scan the QR code, and send exactly the amount shown.
5. If an exchange or wallet subtracts its fee from what you send, switch to "recipient gets the full amount" or add the fee on top.
6. Send before the countdown next to the amount ends. An expired quote leaves the address valid: tap "Get a new quote".
7. Wait for the payment to confirm. Your code appears on screen and we email you a link to it.

What should I know about Algorand before I pay?

Mainly the minimum balance, and that a payment in a block is final. These rules come from Algorand's developer documentation (checked September 25, 2026).

• 0.1 ALGO stays behind. Every Algorand account must keep a minimum balance of 0.1 ALGO, and a transaction that would leave less fails. You cannot send your balance down to zero.
• Each asset raises the minimum. The minimum balance rises by 0.1 ALGO for each asset the account holds, such as USDC, and an account must opt in to an asset before it can receive it. Paying with USDC on Algorand? The network fee is still paid in ALGO, so keep some.
• The fee is small and fixed. The base fee is 1,000 microAlgo, which is 0.001 ALGO, per transaction while the network is not congested.
• Addresses are 58 characters long. Each one is derived from the account's public key, so copy it with "Copy address" or scan the QR code rather than typing it.
• A sent payment cannot be rolled back. Algorand finality is instant: once a transaction is in a block, it is final. Check the address and amount before you approve.

How long until I get my code?

Your code appears on screen as soon as the payment confirms on the network. We also email you a link to it. How long the confirmation takes depends on the coin. On Algorand, a transaction is final as soon as its block is certified, with no forks and no extra confirmations, per Algorand's documentation. What if something goes wrong with my ALGO payment?

Hold off on a second payment and email samantha@genghis.pro with your order number and the transaction hash (TxID). These pages cover the usual cases:

• A quote that ran out before the ALGO arrived

Can I get a refund in ALGO?

No, refunds are never sent in ALGO or on the Algorand network. Refunds within 30 days if a code fails at first redemption, arrives incomplete or never arrives, or our page showed the wrong region. Refunds are paid in USDT or USDC (ERC-20 or BEP-20) or as Genghis Points, 1 to 3 business days after approval. So a USDC refund comes on Ethereum or BNB Smart Chain, even if you paid with USDC on Algorand. Read how to ask for a refund.
